Aims & Objectives

To maintain and promote the standards of Recreation Management in Great Britain
To offer Members a platform for exchange of experience, ideas and suggestions
To provide an Information and Education Service to its Membership
To encourage appreciation by both management and club members of the importance of the work of Members of the Association
To establish and develop links with related organisations in the Leisure Industry in the UK and around the world

History

The RMA was originally known as the Industrial Sports Club Secretaries Association, which was opened in 1956, the present title being adopted in 1970.

Affiliations

The RMA enjoys excellent relations with the Sports Council, Sports Aid, Sprito, Central Council of Physical Recreation, the Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management, the European Federation of Company Sport, the Club Managers Association of America, the Employee Services Management Association and many others, and is represented on the Recreation Management Advisory Group of the Sports Council.
