"Providing professional leadership in Club Management..."

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT – CONFERENCE 2004
Oxford
2004 was a great success.
More new delegates
and more Commercial Associates then ever before enjoyed a very focussed
Education Programme, complemented by a Social Agenda designed to bring members
together.
Keynote speaker, Craig Reedie, member of the IOC and Chairman of the
British Olympic Association, outlined the plans for London 2012 and this
quality start to the Conference was maintained throughout.
Once
again, Education Officer, Ian Campbell, produced an excellent programme of
speakers and subject matter.
Ian said, “Club managers today need to be more aware than ever before
of the key factors affecting businesses and I was pleased we achieved our
objectives with the healthy number of delegates at all the presentations.”
There
were some lively debates both in the lecture room and during the time allowed
for networking.
I was particularly pleased to see the interest and passion that our
members have for their work.
The
decision was taken to introduce a new business partnership with the Route
Organisation.
This is an exciting new development in the Association’s history and
promised much in two critical areas of opportunity – improving income and
better service for our members.
I hope our members will make themselves aware of the possibilities.
The
Oxford hotel, just two miles from the city centre and on the M4 corridor, was
an excellent venue this year.
Its facilities were well suited to our requirements and I was pleased
that I did not receive one single complaint about the service or facilities.
Should any delegate or member from this or previous years have any
recommendations or issues about Conference and how this major Association
function may be improved, please contact myself on 01744 28866 or reply via email
