The main aim of the RMA is to enhance and progress the standards of recreational and leisure management by the provision of information, guidance and the opportunity to exchange ideas, knowledge and experience with fellow members.

The Annual Conference brings together members old and new, specialists, consultants and our commercial associates. Previous conference themes have included "In Search of Excellence", "Focus on the Future", and "Expanding Horizons". During the week long residential conference, varied topics are explored in the seminars and workshops held by industry professionals and RMA members. Feedback shows that members value the participation and informal discussions at the Conference which helps with their own concerns in the workplace, as well as offering the opportunity to forge a valuable network of managers who are available throughout the year.

Educational Seminars and Site Visits are arranged during the year covering such issues as club marketing, bar stocks and controls and corporate fitness and wellness development. These affordable seminars are hosted by various clubs around the country to enable RMA members to visit other leisure facilities and operations.

The Best Practice Handbook, launched two years ago is available to all members. It covers topics such as legal issues, fund raising, promotional tools and financial management.

The Yearbook ( which is a bible to all members) and The RMA Review are supplied free of charge to all RMA members. There is also a "Club Service" which is offered through the RMA's appointed Legal Advisor.
